VTS based on long-range radar station

  Acting as active target-detection and tracking equipment, radar systems play a crucial role in harbor transportation management, bridge monitor system and coastal defense system. Guanin, together with Marine Navigation National Research Center, are now providing VTS system based on long-range radar station.

  • Objectives of system:

  •   1/ Scan the sea in subjection actively by X and S band radar systems, make all objects under inspection.
  •   2/ Acquiring 500 to 1000 targets, automatically or manually, information generated will be transmitted by network.
  •   3/ Inspecting radar systems are operated by remote client through network, with radar image displayed on client side.
  •   4/ The process unit can operate independently with accordance to initial setting, sending acquired target information to pre-appointed server.
  •   5/ Provide overlay with electronic chart and alarm function.
  • System description

  •   This system is made up of X and S band radar station network; it provides active management on targets on sea surface and supplies radar information to the macro monitor system.
  •   The radar system is made up of antenna, transceiver, process unit and infrastructures. Each radar station will be scanning the nearby area and can operate independently; it provides information to server and can be operated by remote control.
  •   The station should be set up in location where necessary and be provided with access to power and network.
  •   Information of target within 6 nautical miles will be accurately generated and compared with compared with nearby station so as to improve accuracy and performance under clutter circumstance.
  • Functions and modules included in each station are listed below:
  •   1/ image process module. (sea/rain)
  •   2/ target acquire
  •   3/ target tracking and analysis
  •   4/ network interface. (Interface to remote client and server)

  •   1.监控雷达控制接口。可通过专用监控雷达客户端对监控雷达站进行全面控制与原始数据观测。
  •   2.专用网络目标反馈接口。可根据已有监控网络,定时向服务器提交最新跟踪目标信息。
  •   Target acquire rule can be set by remote client then every station will work according to the rules. Information of the target will be generated, as below:
  •   1/ position, measured by longitude and magnitude.
  •   2/ navigation, measured by heading and speed.
  •   3/ radar-related, measured by echo characteristics.
  •    Radar stations will access database in server automatically and write generated information.
